The foundations of great design are defined by an in-depth understanding of the subject.




At Fizikal, we investigate five key areas of information that we collectively call 'Nucleus'.  We continually revisit the information within Nucleus to help inform and guide us throughout our entire process. This ensures we find the right opportunities for our clients, irrespective of the type of design work we engage in.

We believe in empathising with and observing the user to really understand their interactions, needs & desires. This allows us to create intuitive and truly engaging experiences that build emotional connections between the user and product.

+ ENVIRONMENT

We understand that a product has to work in its environment and ultimately have the least impact on the environment.  We consider the environmental impact and ethical approach of our design work.  By doing so we can identify opportunities for improvement, reduce or avoid altogether the negative environmental impact that products have and ensure the effect our work has on people and the world is a positive one.

+ BRAND

Whether this is reinforcing or redefining a brand. We understand the importance and values a brand needs to have in a competitive market place.  As consumers we embrace brands to gain something intangible that goes beyond the physical product.  We ensure that our products inspire an emotional response that resonate with our client’s brand DNA.

+ BUSINESS

Design needs to work for your business and key stakeholders. Costs, margins, supply chain & strategy; understanding the micro and macro influences that surround your business will highlight new opportunities and help define your business direction and design strategy.

+ TECHNOLOGY

Utilising existing technology or pushing the boundaries. This could be the technology within the product or the methods used to produce it.  Understanding technology and processes is key to being able to manipulate and master the ultimate outcome.  We ensure the way in which the products we create are manufactured works for the design vision and is not defined by it.

All the information acquired through insight is used to generate meaningful design concepts. We focus as much effort on feasibility as we do on creating engaging interactions and stunning aesthetics.

+ EXECUTE

The final design is clearly communicated to suppliers for manufacture. Our aim is to provide support, validation and feedback even after the product hits the shelf.

The strongest ideas move into development and testing. Our experience has given us a well-stocked toolbox and having regular contact with suppliers ensures the product development is as fast and fluid as possible.
